 The F480 is one great looking phone with all the features you could hope for but there seems to be a few bugs still left in it. The phone is slim, its sleek, 5 megapixel camera, music player, FM radio, high speed Internet and adequate memory. It all sounds so good but it seems that some people are having issues with the quality of calls and random call dropping bugs. Hopefully a patch is available soon.
Tossing those issues aside this phone is pretty sweet. The F480 Tocco is another touchscreen phone that Samsung is starting to get famous for. The phone is a close cousin to the F490 and share many common features. They both look great and are both touchscreen phone on the Croix user interface. The F480 has a nice brushed metal finish and comes with a protective leather case. The key difference in the two phones is the screen. For some reason the Tocco only has a 2.8 inch screen and QVGA resolution making it a downgrade of the F490. While it did lose some graphic capabilities it did get lighter and slimmer compared to the F490. There seems to be trade off on both sides.
Both of the similar Samsung touchscreen phones are fully functioning and user seem to like the touchscreen interface on both models. The F480 comes with a 5 megapixel camera that includes autofocus, smile detection, digital zoom and a LED Flash. The music player is worth mentioning too since its always a hot topic of conversation in mobile phones. The F480 has a nice little player that will play all the latest formats and even has a FM Radio built right in. To keep the tunes rocking the F480 comes with 240MB of internal memory and if thats not enough plugin a microSD card for up to 8 GB of memory. To keep you connected the F480 runs on the 3G network for quick downloads and lets you surf the web at up to 7.2 Mbps.
But again we have to talk about all the reported dropped calls and also some users say the the voice quality is sub par on many calls. It seems that even the latest firmware hasn't solved these issues but Samsung really needs to get on this. Seems both phones have their merit and its up to you to decide which one is for you.
