 The worlds slimmest phone is a slider that belongs to no one other then Samsung. The E840 takes on the slimmest distinction but it does come with drawbacks like a short battery life and touch-sensitive buttons. With just 10.66 in width its amazing at how much phone is stuffed into its tiny frame and at an affordable mid range price.
The phone has a nice slider that is a little but different then most Samsung phones but its still a classic Samsung look. The phone has a nice polished steel with a glassy finish to give it a stylish look. What is really noticeable here is that the phone is super slim. Its so slim you would think that it will feel cheap and crappy in your hands but it has a nice solid feel to it. A job well done by the Samsung team. Some users with bugger fingers may not like the keypad and the touch sensitive buttons that are part of the navigation. Its best to check it out and see how you like the feel of it in your hands.
Once you get past its good looks your eyes will move to the vibrant screen of the E840 with its high resolution LCD measuring 2.2 inches. The camera could have been better since its only a 2 megapixel model with no flash what so ever which is really disappointing. We suppose its better then missing out on any photo but don't give up your regular digicam for this phone. Things get better with the music player. The music player can handle most common file formats such as MP3, ACC, ACC+, e-AAC+ and WMA. And with 70MB of built in memory you can handle about 15 MP3 songs and there is always room for more if you add a microSD card.
The connectivity on this unit is pretty good also supporting all the usual suspects such as Bluetooth, USB and even TV-Out. The phone is quadband so you can use it adjust about anywhere in the world and the web browser can handle all your emails and common office documents too. But make sure to do all your work in a hurry since its super slim size makes for a small battery hence a short battery life too.
In a nutshell it's a really nice phone that does a lot for its size and price point. Just don't demand too much from its shorter battery life and you will be a happy customer.
