This beauty from Barbados who managed to become a real diva is also named as "new Beyonce" (the husband of Beyonce Jay-Z has noticed the talent of Rihanna). But in reality her creative work was much more impressive than the solo works of the star from Destiny's Child. This year was really saturated with events for Rihanna.
She recorded one of the most popular singles of the year 2005, a hypnotizing Pon De Replay (This single sounded out of the windows of all cars and on all parties last summer). In addition she won the audience by her charisma. Now Robyn Rihanna Fenty is ready to repeat everything by releasing her second album named "A girl like me".
Eighteen-years-old singer returns with an amazingly diversified record that combines pop-music, dance track, R&B, reggae and acoustic numbers. What is unexpected is that one third of the album consists of slow, sad ballads, based on piano, stringed instruments or guitar. But, of course, is also includes a couple of hot club hits.
Rihanna asserts that in her new album she attempted to add more rock to her music. In one of the interviews she states that most part of her record consists of songs that are much different from the ones that she performed earlier.
"SOS" song became her first single, a debut song, in the album that was sold in a quantity of million copies. This song is a sympathetic summer jam, produced by Jason Rotem. Being decorated with hypnotic beat and seducing melody, SOS track uses electro-funk of classical song of 80s named "Tainted Love" that turned into emotional hymn of love. The latter was performed by Soft Cell group.
