Description The musical history of Prodigy started in 1990, when it released its first single "What evil Lurks", consisting chiefly of early works of young Howlett. This single was noticed by rave stage and instantly started rotating in different clubs. Even in at present this disk is considered a religious hardcore item. It is practically impossible to obtain the original of this item.
After successful release of their debut single the group left for tour around Great Britain. It performed chiefly in small underground clubs. Their first concert in Italy was enthusiastically accepted by Italian ravers. They proclaimed Prodigy the best group of the rave stage of that time.
On the 12th of August 1991 Prodigy released its second single – legendary "Charly". Mass media had a genuine interest in single several months before its official release. And its expectations were reasonable. "Charly" hit the first line of Dance Chart of Great Britain and became number three in chart "Top 40". Sound recording companies had a lively interest in "Charly" and gave a food for different aggressive debates regarding the end of rave stage. (Many people remember a famous article "Did Charly kill rave?" in "Melody Maker".) Charly was one of the successful releases of that time. It was much better thing than the releases of other groups competing on the stages of Great Britain.
22-years-old Liam was attacked by aggressive musicians of that time for overcoming the conception "Love, Peace, and Happiness" that dominated on the dance stage of 90s. Liam was a classically taught pianist. His ambitions to "create a couple of tracks" were given up in a short period of time. Thus now Liam concentrated on maintaining the status of the most successful representative of hardcore scene. The mixture of unique hip-hop sounding and crazy house music let him stay for a long time on the top of British underground and get a respect of musical community.
