The Nokia Shade is available through Verizon and it’s a basic, well-priced phone for those that want to make calls and desire little else. It’s a clamshell design and it’s elegantly done. It may be low cost but it doesn’t feel cheap. There’s a version of the phone without a camera and one that has a 1.3 megapixel camera. That’s low quality but that’s also low cost and that’s what the Nokia Shade is all about.
If you want the essentials for making calls and staying in touch this phone is a beautiful thing. It comes with Bluetooh connectivity, a microUSB slot and Java support. At the moment the phone costs $30 with a two year contract so it’s among the lowest price offerings on the market. You can store up to 1000 contacts in the phone. Before charging again you’ll be able to talk for up to 300 minutes and it can last 360 hours on standby.
You can access the web through a very basic browser but it will prove to be difficult if you’re trying to do anything but the simplest of tasks. The phone is lightweight and sleek so it’s exceptionally easy to slip it into your pocket. The lack of a keyboard makes text messaging more of a challenge but you can do it old school like people did before keyboards were so common. It’s a beautiful phone, it’s easy to use and the price can’t be beat. There’s a lot to love if you’re looking for something simple and easy.
