The Nokia 5310 XpressMusic range has moved in up in the world of music phones and the competition better take notice. The Nokia 5310 XpressMusic is a ultra thin phone in a classic-shape phone and you can take it home in either red or blue. It has a decent keypad that fits your fingers and a convenient 5-way navigation key. On the side of the phone are the dedicated music buttons and volume control and the beveled edge makes it easy to hold in your hand.

Since it is a music phone, it comes complete with a full function music player and FM radio. The music player has support for playlists, album art and an nice equalizer. You get the choice of listening to your favorite music with either the loudspeaker or the included headset or optional Bluetooth wireless headset. The 5310 has a upgraded audio chip and you can really hear the difference in the quality. This phone has the music aspect so dialed in that it can compare with Sony's walkman series phones or even standalone MP3 players. There is plenty of storage space built in with 30 MBytes but you can get an expanded card to handle 4GB of music.

The 5310 has more to offer then just an amazing music player and making phone calls. It has a decent 2 megapixel camera but it lacks a flash but its still ok. The screen is really good, giving it a high-resolution look that is comparable to anything in this price range. The phone does not connect to the 3G network but it does get high speed internet using EDGE and also has a mini version of the Opera web browser.

The only downer on this phone is the short battery life on this phone. They say the battery life is good for 12 days but get real. With all the music features of this phone you will drain the battery in a day or two so you will end up charging it all the time. Its really no surprise that a great phone loaded with features and a big bright screen sucks up the battery life. It's really a small price to pay for all the features you get. One thing to watch on this phone is if it freezes up all the time make sure to return it to the shop for an exchange.
