Natalie Jane Imbruglia was born on the 4th of February 1975 in Sydney, Australia. She was the first child in a family and after her there were three sisters. Her mother is Australian. Her father is Italian and namely from her father she got her strange surname. When she was two years old she started dancing. When she was thirteen she started singing. When she was fifteen she entered actor’s school. But she studied there only for half a year. When she was sixteen she was filmed in advertisement.

In 1992 Natalie was invited for casting to popular serial named "Neighbours". She was offered a small role lasting for two weeks. The audience liked her and so she acted in this serial for full two years.

In 1994 Natalie quit the serial and came to London. She received a warm reception in London, because at that time "Neigbours" serial was more popular in London than in Australia. For the first time Natalie was invited to different arrangements and parties. But as the time passes the interest to her personality becomes getting colder.
In 1996 when the fever around Natalie calmed a little she got more spare time. She started writing new texts and music for her future hits. At this time Natalie met Anne Barret her future manager. Anne helped Natalie to make demo-records of several songs that they gave to RCA company, with whom Natalie concluded a contract at once.
In October 1997 Natalie released her famous single "Torn". In November she released her first album "Left of the Middle" that contained twelve songs. Ten of these songs were written by Natalie.
In 1998 Natalie Imbruglia passed her first concert tour. Her first concerts passed in Sweden and then she travels to Asia, Australia, Japan and USA.
