Description
 The E398 is an T-Mobile exclusive phone and is currently available in the UK. It is another phone designed around playing music properly enough to be your main mp3 player.
On the outside the phone is a classic Motorola candybar shape that looks quite nice with its black and silver finish. It has standard calling buttons and a classic numeric keypad. The TFT display is bright and displays 65,000 of 220 x 176 pixels. Its not the biggest display on the market by any means but is large enough to make the phone usable.
There is a VGA camera built in right into the unit. It takes a decent photo in the right light. Night time photos are helped along with a LED light and 4 times digital zoom. The phone also has a music player which is a feature it really excels at. It comes with dual speakers that make use of the 3D surround sound technology that can reproduce CD quality sound. For more private listening stereo headphones are included and the sound is really good. Memory space is almost non existent with only 5Mb of internal space. You can however slide in a TransFlash card loaded with all your favorite tracks.
The phone has a cool application called the MotoMixer which allows you to play DJ right on your phone and remix ringtones to your liking. To stay with the DJ theme at night the backlight lights up the keypad and the screen too making it look stylish. Connectivity is also good on the phone with Bluetooth wireless, USB cable and Serial cable too. The phone has many standard Motorola features like downloadable Java games, mms and photo phonebook.
This is a good phone that does alot all things considered. It is not a high end business phone but it can offer alot to even the most heavy phone users. It plays music, takes photos and can even make phone calls and that should be enough for most users.
