Description
The Motorola A925 is another rendition of the A920. It has very similar features and only minor upgrades. It does have 3G and a whole list of features that will make business users very happy. The phone is not much to look at but business people usually worry more about what a phone can do rather than how it looks.
The Motorola A925 is a candy bar shaped phone in a dull gray finish and really doesn't stand out visually. The only think that you will notice right away is the large touchscreen. The TFT screen has a great display capable of 65,000 colors of high resolution 208 x 320 pixel graphics. The screen is quite large measuring a full 4cm x 6cm in size. The screen is full touchscreen which means that you can type on it with either a virtual keyboard or use the hand writing recognition software using the stylus.
The highlight of the phone is naturally the combination of 3G and the Symbian operating system. With the Symbian 7 interface you have access to lots of third party apps that let you do just about anything you want with the phone. The 3G network lets you download all those apps in high speed. You can also surf the web using broadband speeds. The phone is great a messaging tool with support for SMS, EMS, MMS and fully email integration. The email supports most common document types so business users can truly stay connected to the office while on the go.
There is a camera integrated with the A925 but it is the same as on the A920 and not really much of a camera. It takes photos in VGA quality and a max resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. The camera can also record video which is fine for use on YouTube or similar. Since the phone is 3G you can also make video calls which can come in real handy. It has a media player to play music or video but with only 8Mb of internal memory it makes it real hard to store anything on it. It does come with a extra 32Mb microSD card but you should really look into a 8Gb or 16Gb card for phone like this.
With all the high tech the battery starts to take a toll. You will end up charging your batteries once a day and heavy users will want to keep a charger handy at all times. That should be fairly easy since the phone comes with two batteries and two chargers right in the box. Just beware that the phone is a battery hog.
It is a pretty robust business phone for those that just need something that works. Nothing too stylish or flashy just a good overall phone.
