Description

The A830 is an odd looking and bit of a clunky phone that was Motorola first 3G network compliant phone. It has an odd design and but a large screen that only supports 4096 colors. The phone takes photos and videos but they just don't look any good on the phone.

The phone is bulky with a bit of a cheap look to it. It has a swivel mounted camera that can take pictures and record video. The camera is detachable which makes it really easy to lose and the quality on it is not that great to begin with. Really not the phone you want to look to if you are looking for a replacement for your digital camera. We suppose the idea of the camera is pretty good but it could have been built much better.

The real highlight of this otherwise boring phone is the fact that it is a 3G phone. Having 3G on your phone allows you to surf the web at highspeeds upto 7.2Mbps in some locations. But again the phone delivers to tie the camera and 3G together so you simply can't make video calls from the A830.

The phone has a pretty standard music player so you can listen to music while on the go. It plays all the standard music formats just don't expect to load it up with all your favorite tunes. The mobile phone only has 2 megabytes of internal memory which is barely enough for a large collection of contacts never mind any music. You can slide in a memory card though. But even there the phone only supports 32Mbyte microSD cards or about 15 songs. That is simply not acceptable in today's market where microSD cards easily reach 4GB and 8GB in memory capacity.

Overall this phone is not worth looking at even when its free. All the features are substandard and terribly outclassed by other products in the market. Look elsewhere even if you are looking for a free phone. There is much better options out there with two or three times the options of the A830. A truly disappointing phone for sure.
