 The LG Viewty could just be the best LG phone yet. It combines all the latest tech toys and a easy to use touchscreen interface. This phone just seems to do it all. It has a nice 5 megapixel camera, supports the 3G network for fast downloads and video calling. Besides all the tricks up its sleeve the phone also looks good and is available in 3 colors to suit your style: black, silver and a newly released purple.
Fans of the LG Prada will be right at home with the Viewty since its basically a souped up and dressed down version of the Prada. Gone are the designer logos and more subtle looks have been brought in. It looks like most touchscreen type phones similar to a iPhone. Under the hood the Viewty really trumps the Prada. The camera has been upgraded along with the addition of the 3G network which really takes the phone to the next level. On top of that the Viewty kept all the great functionality of the Prada and added more memory and a longer lasting battery. No wonder we think it could be the best LG mobile phone yet.
Touchscreens are all the craze these days and its easy to see why. You can access and navigate menus much quicker then traditional menus. The only downside is that have text messagers complain that the touchscreens keypads slow them down from their furious pace. The same users are usually more than happy to put up with this since the rest of the user experience is that much better than traditional phones. The Viewty comes with a big touchscreen and a stylus pen to make navigation quick. There a a few real buttons to be found on the phone as well. On the front are a few buttons to help you start and end calls quickly and a job wheel to go through long menus if you like. On the side are buttons for phone and music volume and controlling the camera too. As far as usability this phone ticks all the right boxes.
Some key features of the Viewty besides it awesome interface have to start with the all new 5 megapixel camera. The camera has a Schneider-Kreuznach lens, autofocus and a SmartLight feature that helps out with night time picture taking. It maybe not be a industry leading camera like the ones found in the Nokia or Sony phones but it is one of the best. When you factor in the amazing video recording capabilities this camera definitely hits the top 10 list. The video recorder can film up to 320 x 240 pixels QVGA and upto 120 frames per second. For those keeping score, normal TV is shown in 30 fps, so why have a camera that can record 120 fps? Easy to let you do cool things with the video like add effects to the movie. The camera is so good that you can even film in super slow motion and end up with a clear picture. To help you achieve the best results of your creativity there is built in picture and video editing software and even a second front camera for those 3G video calls.
Just like the camera most phones these days are judged on their ability to play and store your music. The Viewty delivers on this front as well. It plays all the music formats any high end phone can and it has A nice and easy to use music player to handle all the tunes. If you forgot to load all your music on there is a built in FM Radio to keep you going. Stereo headphones are included in the box or you can use Bluetooth headset to listen to your music. As for storage there is 90 MB built right in and you can expand using a microSD card for upto 2GB more memory. Quite shy of the 8GB and 16GB on an iPhone but still more than enough for most users. The phone as mentioned earlier is a 3G phone and that means you can surf the Internet at upto 3.6Mbps,download your email and you can view all your common office files too.
The LG Viewty is one heck of a phone. It does everything well and comes in a really nice package. The two negatives of the phone are battery life which could be better but still matches the life of iPhone and other touchscreen phones. The screens just like to suck up all the battery life. The other downer is that you can only really have 2GB of memory space at anytime. If you don't mind the smaller memory than the Viewty is probably a better phone than the iPhone.
