Description

The LG Ally is a touchscreen slide phone with a QWERTY keyboard. It’s rectangular and measures 4.56 inches long by 2.22 inches wide. It weighs less than 6 ounces so it feels heavy enough to be substantial but you’re not going to be encumbered by it. The screen measures 3.2 inches and supports 262,000 colors. It looks vibrant and with a resolution of 480x800 the images on screen are crisper than usual. It’s high quality phone.

The touchscreen works well and is not prone to picking up every little fingerprint and smudge mark. The screen display looks good and is customizable so you can make it your own. On the front of the phone you’ll find a few keys (end/power, call, home, etc) and when you slide it open the full keyboard is revealed. When you rotate the phone so does the screen display.

The video player included with the LG Ally supports MPEG4, WMV, 3GP and 3G2 formats and is easy to get around and use. The music player supports MP3, AAC, AAC+ and WMA formats. That’s fairly standard and you should be able to play your full collection on it. The camera is 3.2 megapixels and comes with several different options for producing the pictures you want to see. Camera features include zoom, a flash, a macro mode, panorama and something they call smile shot. You can also record videos at up to 640x480. The internal memory comes in at 512mb and you can increase it to up to 16gb if you buy a microSD card. The battery life is reported at an impressive 7.5 hours of talk time and nearly 21 days in stand by mode.
