Description
Kylie Minogue came into this World on the 28th of May 1968 in Melbourne, Australia. Her father Ronald Charles Minogue was a native Australian. Her mother Carol Ann, an Englishwoman, together with her family moved in 1955 from Maesteg, Wales to Townsville, Queensland.
Kylie was not a single child in her family. She had a younger sister Dannii, who became pop soloist, and a younger brother Brendan. Both Dannii and Kylie were on the public eye from early childhood. When she was 11 years old Kylie acted in such TV serials as «Skyways», «The Sullivans» and «The Henderson Kids». However the public didn't like her.
In truth, at the beginning Dannii was in fat city. The audience noticed Dannii on show "Young Talent Time", which was broadcasted seven days a week. Dannii sang songs in this show. In 1983 Kylie sang a song in this show. Kylie became famous as her sister only after acting in soap opera named "Neighbors".
Thereafter Kylie became really famous. Once while participating in charitable program in Melbourne she sang a composition named "The Loco-Motion". A sound recording studio named "Mushroom Records" accidentally heard her singing and as a result Kylie and studio concluded a contract in 1987.
This song was released as an independent single named "Locomotion" and it held the top positions in Australian hit parades for the period of one and half month. As a result, the sales of the single hit all records. The singer was invited to visit London, to work with Stock, Aitken and Waterman.
These three first treated Kylie indulgently. They didn't meet her when she came to London. They quickly composed for her a single "I should be so lucky", which unexpectedly became a hit.
Her debut disk "Kylie" consisting of discotheque singles hit the top line of British hit parade. The sales turned very good. She was about to be called a superstar. Her disk was distributed in seven million copies all around the World. The disk was best loved by Europeans and Asians.
America still lagged behind because it was traditionally standing against any foreign performers. Although single "Locomotion" still held the third line of the hit parade of Billboard Hot 100, it was most likely due to pulling strings. Americans remembered and knew the first variant of the single performed by Little Eva.
In 1988 Kylie decided to leave soap opera "Neighbors" in order to devote her life to singing. Her things in music walk of life were shaping up well. In 1989 Kylie amazed the audience by issuing her new hit, a single "Especially for you", which she performed together with Jason Donovan, a young man she loved at this moment.
After leaving the soap opera Kylie didn't forget that she was an actress. The girl was invited to act in film "The Delinquents", depicting a young person from Australia of the 50s. The critics didn't perceive the role of Kylie seriously, but the audience liked it.
Thereafter she acted in "Street Fighter" (1994), "Bio-Dome" (1996), "Sample People" and "Cut" (2000). But all these films were performed so-so even in eyes of her fans, not speaking about film fanatics. Her mini-roles were more successful. In 2001 Kylie played the part of the Green Fairy in "Moulin Rouge!" She did her best in this film because she was doing what she could do best – singing. In 2004 Kylie provided the voice of a young girl Florence from the cartoons named "The Magic Roundabout".
As regards music, then as far back as 1992 Kylie decided to break the contract with producers Stock, Aitken and Waterman. The main reason was the fact that none of the above-mentioned wanted to do anything to prevent the star of her fame from going out.
Therefore, being of the producer's interference Kylie tried to shine as a singer and a composer throughout many years. However, as a result she gave up to disco studio "deConstruction". In her creative work Kylie attempted to escape the last stereotypes because she understood that she had to do something differently.
