Famous actress and popular singer Jennifer Lopez was born on the 24th of July, 1970 in Bronx, a poor district of New York. Her parents came from Puerto Rico and had two more children besides Jen.
From the early childhood her parents attempted to protect her from bad influence of street, by letting her study in catholic school and dance in dance group. Jennifer started studying in dance group when she was 5 years old. Two years later the to-be-star began taking part in city concerts. Later she started learning singing and began taking part in all school performances. Her parents considered her studies as a hobby, because they dreamt that their daughter would enter college and become a lawyer.
In 1988, Jennifer studied in dance school of Manhattan and then entered college. Later she left studying because she wanted to dance on stage. When she was 18 Jennifer left her parent’s house and moves towards her dream. Jennifer acted in video clips for 50 dollars per clip. Every day she passed tests and received refusals because of her “exotic” Puerto Rican origin.
Jennifer almost lost her hope to succeed and suddenly in 1989 she was invited to be a dancer in “Golden musicals of Broadway” tour. One year later she was on tour in Japan with “Synchronism” musical.
Two years later she was invited to comedy show named “Live colors”. For several years Jennifer danced in show and acted in serials and poor known films. The most successful film was “Mi Familia” (“My family”)
In 1997, Jennifer was tested for “Selena” film… Leaving 20 thousand applicants behind her she was appointed the leading part in screening the life history of Mexican singer Selena Quintanilla Perez, who was killed in 1995. She took one million dollars and, thus, became the first Latin American actress who had received such a high fee. For playing this part, Jennifer was nominated the “Golden Globe” prize. Soon newly-made millionaire married Ojani Noah, a waiter, making his first steps in model business. The divorced 18 months after their wedding.
The actress career of Jennifer gradually went uphill. She acted in such films as “Blood and wine” and “Anaconda”. She was the first Latin American woman, who became a model in French firm named “L’Oreal” together with such stars as Andy McDowell and Claudia Schiffer.
The suggestions to act in films rained on her. But Jennifer liked music better an in 1998 started working over her solo career. She concluded contracts with “Sony Music” firm and with Tommy Motolla (ex-husband of Mariah Carrie), singer Mark Anthony and Puff Daddy (who later became her boyfriend). She started recording her debut album. Her music is a mixture of disco, rhythm-n-blues, rap, national Latin American tunes and pop-music.
When a debut named “On the 6” became available for sale on 28th of May 1999, everyone understood that a time for new music performed by Latin American beauty Jennifer Lopez had come. “If you had my love” single was rated number one in most hit-parades. She became one of the most popular and highly paid actresses of Hollywood. When she was 29 she managed to work with such outstanding persons as Oliver Stone, Francis Ford Coppola, Jack Nicholson and Sean Penn…
In the 2001, Jennifer releases her second album “J.Lo”. One of its singles “Love Don’t cost a thing” was in the top lines of hit-parades five weeks before the release of the album itself.
Later she broke with rapper Puff and soon J.Lo, as she called herself, marries Chris Jadd, the dancer from her team.
The marriage with Jadd lasted only for ten months and thereafter Jennifer started to look for a more suitable partner for her. At the same time she acted in films and prepared for recording a new album. She is an active person and succeeds in everything. At last in 2002 Jennifer found a new cavalier, Ben Affleck. The singer plans to marry him and has issued a regular album named “This is Me… Than”, that is among the first songs in hit parades.
Her beauty is now known more than her music and films. She is getting one of the best persons and proves that even Cinderella becomes a Princess.
