Description This commercial hard-rock group, formed in New Jersey (USA), was founded by John Bon Jovi. John Francis Bonjiovi was born on the 2nd of March 1962, in Pert Amboy, USA. The rest members of the group are ex-guitar player "Message" Richi Sambora (Richard Steven Sambora, born on the 11th of July 1959, Pert Amboy, USA), keyboard player David Bryan (David Rushbaum, born on the 7th of February 1962, Edison, USA), ex-drummer "Franke And The Knockouts" (Tico Torres, born on the 7th of October 1953) and ex-bassist "Message" (Alec John Such, born on the 14th of November 1956).
Italian Bonjiovi met with ex-member of "Phantom's Opera"Rushbaum, which shared his interest to rock music, in Sayerville secondary school. Soon they joined rhythm-and-blues group "Atlantic City Expressway". When Rushbaum left for New York to study in music school Bonjiovi followed him.
John was used to stay in "Power Station" sound recording studio that was owned by his cousin Tony. Two years later producer Billy Squire agreed to deal with his demonstrational roll. One of the tracks "Runaway" was frequently broadcasted on local radio and entered the album compilation of local rock groups. Next John joined Rushbaum, Sambora, Such and Torres and they became one group. By the July of 1983 they had signed a contract with "PolyGram records" and took part in "ZZ top" concerts in "Madison Square Garden". This group has attracted folk's attention and John was offered to play a leading part in music film "Footloose". John refused to play in order to concentrate on his favorite hobby – music.
After the release of their debut album "Bon Jovi" took part in tours together with "Scorpions", "Whitesnake" and "Kiss". Their second album "7800 degree of Fahrenheit" was met by music press with cynicism. The press was filled with enmity towards group's manicured image and their commercialized hard-rock. This moderate album only strengthened the press's disregard. The group answered by releasing "Slippery when wet", the bestseller rock album of 1987, although it first appeared in August 1986. Recorded in cooperation with a song writer Desmond Child, three tracks from this disc ""Wanted Dead Or Alive", "You Give Love A Bad Name" and "Livin' On A Prayer" became hits on both sides of Atlantic Ocean.
Released in 1988 "New Jersey" included composition "Living in Sin" that definitely indicated the soloist's future of John. The most part of the year 1989 was spent on different tours and then the group was broke up. John comments this like this: "The time has come to drive away to mountains on my bicycle and create something different than what "Bon Jovi" recorded". Later her put emphasis on his solo career and married the champion of karate Dorothy Harley. Then he acted in his first film "Young Guns II" and in 1990 released the soundtrack to this film.
However, the commercial stimulus made him think about the revival of "Bon Jovi". "Keep the faith" turned to be a premium album that was approved both by critics and admirers, that had waited for almost 4 years when the new material comes out. The success of melodic ballad "Always" that led the first lines of hit parades proved that the group still has a constructive potential. The compilation of group "Cross road" released in 1994 took the first place in British charts. However, at this time gossips saying that bassist Such was to be changed for Hi McDonald appeared. Meanwhile, Bryan released his first solo album recorded on "Phonogram" studio in Japan and Sambora married a Hollywood actress Lokli.
