Description

The history of Black Eyed Peas began in distant 1989 when the students of higher school, Will. I. Am (born 15 March 1975) and Apl.de.Ap, met each other. After understanding that they had common ideas and preferences in music the boys decided to unite their efforts to create their own group. Soon they began delivering rap in various night clubs of Los Angeles and called their duet "Atbam Klann".

Shortly they won popularity among local rap and brake parties. In three years, in 1992 young musicians concluded a contract with label "Ruthless Records". Although the boys didn’t release any album the following couple of years their stayed valid till the death of the label’s director Eazy-E (he signed a contract with Atbam Klann) in 1994.

In 1995, Will.I.Am and Apl.de.Ap. obtained a new member, ex-member of Grassroots group, Taboo. (born 14 July 1975) Very soon this newly-made trio with a new name "Black Eyed Peas" was rewarded with a new contract with "Interscope Records". The debut album of this team, "Behind the Front", was released in 1998. This album was recorded with participation of Macy Gray and Waiklef Jean. "Behind the Front" put the beginning to the tradition of "Black Eyed Peas" not to limit their members by the hip hop. Because participants belonged to different races and cultures (Afro-American, Mexican, and Philippine), you should not wonder that their songs are so diversified.
