The to-be-star came into the world in 1982 in New York. In early childhood Alicia took a great interest in music (mainly due to persistent persuasions of her mother). Her mother persistently inspired her to take lessons of piano. After mastering this instrument the girl decided to become a soloist of the local choir. It was difficult to miss talented Alicia. Everyone liked her unusual gift. Her aptitude for vocal was so good that a special teacher from "Manhattan's Professional Performance Arts School" gave lessons to her. This allowed the girl to sing more confidently than before… Although Alicia didn't like secondary school, she managed to complete her study much earlier than the usual term. And then she became a student of rather famous and authoritative Columbian university. At the same time, the girl liked music better than study. Because she was rather active and creative the girl attracted the representatives of practically all leading labels of USA. Nevertheless, she signed the contract only with "Arista Records" company that offered her the most beneficial conditions. She started preparing to record her first studio album. It is remarkable that the girl composed all the songs by herself. At this moment Alicia wanted to switch to new label "J Records" that separated from "Arista Records". But in spite of all of moving her debut record named "Songs in A Minor" appeared on counters in 2001. For the beginning vocalist it was a good start. This album was sold in the quantity of 500000 copies. Her best compositions are "Fallin" and "Troubles". These compositions hit all American charts striving to the first lines of hit parades. Moreover, in 2002 Alicia became the owner of five awards of "Grammy", a legendary musical award. In particular, she managed to win such prestige places as "The best new performer", "The song of the year", "The best Rhythm and Blues style album". Over-mentioned awards would be enough for the beginning performer. But soon Alicia adds "Soul Train Music Awards" and "Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Awards" awards to her list of victories. This is a perfect reason for pride. Though, Alicia perceived it calmer than her admirers and the printed media. She thanked her family and friends, people, who were surrounding her from her early childhood, let her comprehend herself and develop her creativeness. She says her creativeness will be enough not only for her debut project but also to her numerous future albums. Her last statement soon turned into reality in a form of a new record "The diary of Alicia Keys". As Alicia stated she had more ready songs than could fit the album. Alicia constantly composed something and didn't think about any boundaries. She didn't care if there would be enough songs to fit the project or not. The main thing she cared about was the creative work itself. In this regard she adopted many things from such idols as Steve Wonder and Prince.
