Description

The Acer Tempo M900 is a slide phone with a full QWERTY keyboard so you can text your brains out in addition to making calls, browsing the web, listening to music and more. The phone features a simple design and it’s a little thick because of the keyboard. Still, it looks good enough. Just don’t bring it to a phone fashion show. The keyboard isn’t quite as responsive as it should be. Sometimes you’ll feel as though you hit a key but it won’t respond and you’ll be pressing the back button to correct your mistake.

There’s a fingerprint sensor with the Acer Tempo M900 that you can setup to protect your most precious files. It’s pretty cool but it doesn’t always work as it should and you may end up sweeping your finger more times than would be ideal. The interface features relatively intuitive buttons that you can click on to get to the various functions. It runs on the Windows Mobile platform so if you have a Windows-based computer you’ll be familiar with a lot of the icons already.

The Acer Tempo M900 offers a 5 megapixel camera offers auto exposure, three focus settings, a shake adjustment filter and multi shot (which means it can take up to nine pictures in quick succession). The photo resolution is high and there are several photo effects that can be applied. Sometimes the camera has difficultly focusing and the colors captured aren’t always vibrant. You can take video as well.

You can play movies and music via the Windows Media Player and Acer’s own music player. There’s a speaker on the back that provides decent sound but you’ll often be wishing you could turn it up louder. The headphones are low quality and there’s no 3.5mm jack so the quality headphones you own likely won’t work with the phone. There’s also a GPS supported by Google Maps that works well. You can increase the 256mb of onboard memory with up to 8gb via the microSD slot. It’s a good phone and it stands tall next to the nearest competitors.
