The new high end cell phone Motorola QA4 Evoke is coming to cell phone carrier Cricket. This will boost the standing of the mobile phone carrier and boost sales of the Evoke since it is the only touchscreen phone currently in their lineup. The Evoke is a fully featured cell phone with a 2 megapixel camera, GPS and a microSDHC card slot. The phone will retail for $299 at Cricket but you can save $2o by pre-ordering the phone right now. News has leaked that Hitachi is getting ready to launch a phone that doubles as a High Definition Video Camera. The mobile phone will be called the HI-Vision Cam Wooo according to its packaging. This will be the worlds second mobile phone to be able to handle HD video recording capabilities. The first cell phone to do HD video is the Samsung Omnia HD. The camera itself is a 5 megapixel camera and records in 720p video. There is face recognition software and comes with a microSDHC card slot so you can record upto 8GB worth of content.

Nokia also launched the Ovi Maps Player API which is a easy way of embedding Ovi Maps into other websites. Sont Ericsson has announce through all its media channels that the Xperia X1 will have a new firmware update coming soon. The Xperia X1 is the companies flagship Windows Mobile smartphone. The new firmware is expected to be ready for download as soon as June 2009. There is not much known as to what the new upgrade will feature but we do know that support for Blackberry will be there.
