The president finally got his new Blackberry after it was loaded with super secure software says the Washington Times. The president has long been a fan of technology and secured many votes during his campaign using the Internet. The super secure software is called SecureVoice and was developed by Genesis Key Inc. It is meant to secure the device from hackers and spies. The rest of the Presidents top aids are also said to have gotten the new Blackberries with SecureVoice

Research in Motion has launched the Blackberry Pearl Flip 8230 smartphone for Alltel Wireless. The phone is slated to hit the stores and only within the next few weeks. The Blackberry Pearl Flip 8230 is a classic clam shell design and looks really stylish with its polished black and silver finish. It has an external screen for quick functionality and a large main display for full smartphone use such as media player, camera, web browsing and email. The phone will be available for $79.99 after a $70 mail-in rebate with a new 2yr plan.

TechEd 2009 will see launch of Windows Mobile 6.5

You can mark May 11th on your technology calendar for two good reasons. First it will be the opening day for the TechEd conference in Los Angeles but more importantly it will be the launch date of Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system. The news was made public by Microsoft using their Windows Mobile Team Blog. The launch will be held at 2:15pm PDT by Stephanie Ferguson, the General Manager of Business Experiences at Microsoft. The software has been designed to finally allow a better integration of Keypads and touchscreen interfaces. It is set to replace Windows Mobile 6.

During the WIMA conference in Monaco, Nokia announced the Nokia 6216 mobile phone. The phone is revolutionary by any standards. It comes loaded with a Near Field Communication device that is synced to you SIM card. You load your SIM card with your credit card information and then you can just swipe your phone next to a compatible pay station to pay your bill. With proper security the phone will make paying for gas, groceries and other bills with just your cell phone. Beyond the no touch pay the phone is a classic candy bar design and will have a 2 megapixel camera.



Bluetooth V3.0 on its way

Version 3.0 Highspeed from Bluetooth is coming soon. Bluetooth SIG just announced that the new Bluetooth standard is in the works and will gets its high speed courtesy of the 802.11 radio protocol. You will be able to see transfer speeds of upto 24Mbps and may be available as soon as a year from now. The point of going faster is to enable Bluetooth integration among more consumer electronics. You could soon see video files being shared amongst home theater systems for a PC via a Bluetooth connection in both units. Other uses will include large music library sharing and wireless printing.



Nokia gets CDMA approval for Nokia 8208

The 8208 was announced some time ago but it has now officially been green lighted by the CDMA network. The Nokia 8208 is a sleek and smooth slider phone that has a mp3 music player and a 3 megapixel camera. Whats sets this slider apart from others is that it slides out both ways. Slide it down to reveal the keypad for dialing or text messaging. Slide it up to show the music player controls. The 8208 has been available for a short time in some countries but with the CDMA network its only a matter of time before a big US carrier picks it up.

SplashPhoto and SplashNotes are two new applications available in the Apple App Store from SplashData. The applications work on both the iPhone and the iPod Touch and are available for $4.99 per download. SplashPhoto lets you manage photos on your mobile device and easily sync between your PC or Mac computer using wireless connections. It will manage your photos on the your computer and keep them synced between the mobile device, Flickr and Picasa. SplashNotes is a note taking and outlining application that also syncs with a personal computer. Both apps are available now.
