In a much needed and bold move the European Commission has mandated that mobile manufacturers standardize all cell phone chargers using the micro-usb port. This means that you won't have to dig for chargers anymore and any of your friends will be able to charge you mobile in a pinch. One charger to unite them all is a great move for the mobile industry. So far the manufacturers on board include Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Samsung, Apple, LG, NEC, RIM (BlackBerry), Qualcomm and Texas Instruments. No word when the standardized phones will start to roll out.

Now that the Apple iPhone 3GS is out the question is did we really need one? There are many who are disappointed with the iPhone 3GS stating that it just doesn't offer all that much more than the iPhone 3G. The S is more more expensive and only has limited upgrades over the standard "G" model but that should not upset anyone. We have all known about the Nokia N86 mobile phone since the announcement in February of this year. Now Nokia has announced that shipments of the N86 have been gone to their global retail stores. The Nokia N86 is expected to retail for about 475USD or 375€. The new Nokia offering has sweet 8 megapixel camera that uses a Carl Zeiss optic lens. The big screen on the unit is a 2.6 inch QVGA OLED hardened glass screen that is scratch resistant too. It has all the other high-end features you would expect from Nokia.
